Hey Everyone

My name is Cecilia. I was officially diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome at age 19. I decided to try a support forum because as of the last 5 years or so, I've been through a lot(Losing my only sibling, childhood pet and favourite aunt and much more. All I have is my parents and I have nobody to talk to so I figured maybe talking to people who think similarly may help. So anyways, that's why I'm here and I thought I'd take the first step in Introducing myself.

Hi CeCe welcome to aspie land sorry about your family and pet (((hugs))) for you!

If you want to ask about auti or maybe aspie stuff I can help some, with other things others will likely know much more than me. best wishes Mael

Hi :) I feel ya - the past two years have been rough on me socially, I've unfortunately lost contact with so many friends I had from college and if my parents didn't come over to my apartment I think I'm pretty sure I would have melted from the loneliness by now.

Hi & Welcome,
Those are heavy personal losses for anyone, and likely more so for an Aspie, already with limited connections. Its good to try and reach out and reduce your isolation.

Are you from the Crimea then? Have the recent events there also added to the stress?

Welcome aboard :) I hope you find comfort and friendship here, it's a nice community. Best wishes.

Thank you for all the kind words everyone :). The news of my home's invasion was definitely another add to my anxiety levels. I do live in the U.S. As I have for most of my life so seeing it all from afar makes me hurt for my people. I so far feel very welcome here and that is something I haven't had for a long while.

Welcome. :) I'm very isolated and go most of my days without talking to a single person - so I sympathize with where you're coming from here. This place has helped me a lot recently. I just have this tab permanently open in my browser and somehow that's comforting.... hahah.

I'm NT but I'm glad to hear stories like yours. I've had at least one aspie girlfriend and am in love with another (I've known her for years but, she just found out that she has this). Wishing you the best.

I'd be happy to be your friend. The isolation is the worst. Its good to know yourself and to be strong, but it seems like people forget our take for granted just how important human connection is; and how hard it can be.

Hugs and my best!

Rocco, that is a rather haunting painting, I like the textural thing you did with the waves. The 3d depth of the wave is a very nice counterpoint to the
colorful lack of depth of the sky. Perhaps one of my favorites.
You are quite prolific, how many works do you do a week? I think you welcome all the newbies with a new painting and I don't think I have seen a repeat yet.

Thank you for the kind words :) I do try to welcome every one with a painting. When I am painting, (on hiatus now) I paint 1-6 per week, or as my canvas supply allows.
