Hey there, space cats!

Hi everyone, I'm Kory! I'm 17, and first started suspecting I had aspergers around 3 years ago. Around that time my dad was listening to this podcast, and on it a man was recounting his experiences with aspergers. My dad could relate to him in a lot of ways and started suspecting that he himself had aspergers, and asked for my opinion on it. When I started looking more into aspergers so that I could tell him whether I thought it sounded like him or not, I myself found that I could really relate to it too!

I never got an official diagnosis because I've accepted aspergers in myself since I first found out about it, and although it does make socializing and communicating more difficult for me, I don't think it causes a big enough negative impact on my life to require discussion with a therapist or psychologist. Since then my younger brother has been officially diagnosed though, and I made a really close friend last year who has been officially diagnosed as well. I can identify a lot with both of them, and they think I have aspergers as well. Aspergers has been become a huge part of my identity to me, so I'm happy to join a community like this!

In terms of my interests, I usually get obsessive about a single interest for a couple of years and then move onto a different one, but right now I'm really in love with pokemon. Not gonna go into that right now because I can run on about pokemon for hours but if any of you like pokemon too we should talk :>

Welcome,
My kids watched Pokemon from day one, and although I am not into it, I always liked Pikachu. Oh, and Meoth. (I think that's how you spell it).

Earth bound cat person here, welcome to the community, Kory! It's great you have others in your family with aspergers, my father and brother are aspies too, it's nice to have people to compare notes with!

Meowth really is a cutie! I'm attached to the older episodes of the show because I've watched those since I was very young (pokemon came out the same year I was born!), but I'm mostly into the card game and collecting aspects c:

Welcome aboard

Thanks, I'm glad to be here!

Did someone say "cat?" Welcome, Kory. :)

Another cat lover? Thanks for your warm welcome!

It's nice to encounter other feline friends on here! :3 Comparing notes with other aspies really does help, it's cool that you have your father and dad to help you out as well :D
