Just joined and looking forward to browsing the boards. I'm self diagnosed, but probably as sure about it as one can be. Suspected ASD for a several years, but only came to be sure about 2 years ago. That's all I can think of saying!

Many here at AC are self diagnosed; it is a no brainer for many us, we know our obvious traits.

Yeah. People always labeled me somewhat 'different' and I thought that true myself. But we didn't know that you could have autism in varying levels of severity and symptoms. We only knew about very severe cases. At least not until the 90's when Aspergers and such started to become well known as it began showing in our children's generation.

I suppose that has been a common progression, this delayed knowledge for older people.
