Hi, from the great white North

Bookmarked the site long ago and forgot it until tonight... though shouldn't have. It's kind of nice to find a place where my nonsense might be understood;)! I am curious though to know if there are other oldies like myself - relatively recent 'seniors' (blechhh!) who maybe were never diagnosed but discovered along the way this is probably where we fit in, if we do... why does that seem contradictory?

Hope to meet some of you soon...

Age doesn't mean a thing when you're still a child at heart :D Well to be more precise, I'm into retro things from the 80's and 90' but I grew up in the 90's and like the 8 bit machines from the 80's :D I miss the culture of the 90's :(

Anyways, welcome to community :)

Welcome to AspiesCentral, rimalucy!

And you turn 71 in early September, too (may Life's Lord allow!)

As someone fresh from celebrating (?) my 50th birthday, I may have
some questions to ask you in the future about autism spectrum disorders
and aging.

By the way, I live in Edmonton, AB. And you?

I'm not sure yet how to work this thing (a bit different from other forums) because there's no obvious box to write in, but I guess I'll work it out... How do you know my age please? I didn't give it anywhere...

Been in Moncton NB x 4 yrs, following 15 in NS, after 20 in T.O. and the rest in Mtl... Spent an amazing summer ('61) at the Banff School - so different then from what Banff has become now - and I remember every minute of it, as well as the couple of days spent at the Stampede (of all things I remember about that was a guy called Willie Little Bear being killed in ?? the Chuckwagon race - have no idea why I've never forgotten the name. Are you a native of Alta? And what are your interests here? Almost forgot - I've got a cousin (doctor) in Edmonton.

At the moment your age is being displayed. Somewhere in the settings for your account you can select for it not to be displayed.

As for my background: I'm born and bred in Alberta. I've been living in Edmonton since 1982. I was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome in September of 1997, and I've participated in other web sites and fora for persons with Asperger's.

As for the chuckwagon race: it's called The Rangeland Derby. I wonder if you know the Ian Tyson song Half a Mile of Hell, about chuckwagon drivers such as Kelly Sutherland.

- I loved Ian and Sylvia, and 4 Strong Winds came out the year I was there , but other than that have no memory of any of their stuff - not otherwise a 'country' audience... but I bet it's a good song. At the time, I was much too busy with another school 'friend' from Minnesota, so a lot probably went right by me :D.

Hi and welcome RimaLucy. I am 49 and was only diagnoised last year.
Age is nothing but a number, it how you feel on the inside that counts.
welcome from New Zealand

Hi! I just finished telling someone else about being in Oz last year and having family in Wellington. Wish I'd gotten there too, but there wasn't time or money. Is that a bear on your shoulder? Name of? I've got a terrific big dark one called Oscar, and he was the main babysitter for a really small kitten I had years ago... plus a friend uses them for his therapy sessions.
