Hi there - I was privately diagnosed with High Functioning Aspergers in 2013 and with Dyspraxia in 2014 - I am still reeling from them and have tried so hard to find people like me - to see how they have coped with it -

Welcome aboard :)

Hello Sylvia. I can understand where you are coming from. Although I have not had a proper diagnosis, I am personally convinced that I have Aspergers syndrome. Since I was 6 years old I've known that I was somehow different than everyone around me. Looking back over the coarse of my life (I'm 43 now) from the perspective of having Aspergers, everything makes sense now, although I'm still it the process of putting it all together.

Welcome to AC, I hope you will find some like-minded people here.

I was also diagnosed late (mid-thirties)--I have gone for three years with only a tentative diagnosis because it was hard to find someone who would diagnose an adult. Getting my official diagnosis now.

There is a lot to take in and absorb so feel free to ask any questions you have, you'll always find an "Aspie" who has an answer!
