HI I’m ned i think i have

Ned

New Member
Asperger. See my tumblr post

Ich fühle nur Weltschmerz

I also stutter, have crooked teeth, thick glasses, and poor social skills. I manage my time poorly by learning useless foreign languages instead of socializing or studying. I am quite clumsy, forgetful, absentminded and I have a 2.4 gpa in my university. I have lost several close friends by accidentally saying offensive things to them and I will never have a girlfriend .

Thanks everyone. I know I’m a ______ too

Welcome Ned, to Aspies Central. Lots of people here like to learn languages, and are good at them. I'm not one of those people, I only know two and a little bit of another. No one here cares how you look, or that you stutter, you don't stutter when you write so no one can tell. So welcome to a place where people don't judge all that much.

Hi Ned, I like languages as well. My latest interest is Russian. I also studied German fairly extensively. In the social realm, I have social anxiety and prefer solitary activities. Life and the world seem like uncomfortable mysteries to me. Welcome, and thanks for your post.

"Weltschmerz is rather difficult to define accurately, but the best definition I could find is “depression or apathy caused by the comparison of the actual state of the world with the ideal state"."

I've got Weltschmerz all the time, think about how good it could be versus how bad it is.

Good to hear from you, Ned.

Hello Ned welcome. I hope you enjoy it here, people are kind and supportive and there are a lot of useful and interesting threads to read. It's great you can learn languages I am very poor at that, not sure why.

Hi Ned, which languages do you speak? I also like to learn languages (but languages are never useless!). Which languages can you speak?

Welcome Ned to Aspies Central, a great place to be with accepting, supportive and friendly people. Enjoyed your tumblr blog very much. I think you'll find much in common with people here.

Hi Ned, welcome to the forum! I’m sure you’ll like it here and make new friends with likeminded people. :-)

Hi Ned, which languages do you speak? I also like to learn languages (but languages are never useless!). Which languages can you speak?
I can only speak English (native) and Spanish (Intermediate). I know the grammar of FREnch, German and Italian so I can read texts with a dictionary. I am elementary at speaking. I know basic modern greek, hungarian and japanese grammar and I can pronounce, but not read, russian cyrillic. i also know some basic ASL, including the finger spelled alphabet.

Aside from spanish and english I pretty much learned all of the above on youtube, so my conversational ability is lacking because i rarely find people to practice with.

Anyway, what about you?

I speak English (native tongue), Modern Greek, German, Romanian (fluent), French (intermediat), Spanish, Italian (basic), plus some Polish and Russian vocabulary. I can read Cyrillic script, but can't speak Russian.
