My son is 3 now, but I knew something was different since he was about 3 months old.
He hardly speaks and has a vocabulary of 18 month old(if that extensive even). He said his first words at 6 months and never said a word again.
He never responded to affection as my daughter did as is expected for different stages or miletones, but I put it down as a boy or personality trait. He is more affectionate now but only when asked to cuddle.
He got extremely frustrated since age 3 months, if he tried to handle toys or objects but his motor skills was not developed for grasping.
He suffered with severe dairy allergy that was only diagnosed at 18 months(well managed at this stage).
He is very aggressive with other kids at school and I have daily complaint from his teacher about hitting others for no apparent reason.
On the other hand he is far advanced within his class and already does work for grades higher to keep him occupied in class.
He has never cried once when dropped of at school waves goodbye without hassle unlike other kids in his class.
He has severe meltdowns if something is out of routine.
And then I read something about sugar intake and Autism two weeks ago and started cutting all sugar out of his diet completely and there has been massive improvement has other moms experienced the same?
I could only get an appointment with a paediatric neurologist to confirm suspected diagnosis at the end of Nov, so self managing at this stage but would appreciate all the guidance help and advise I can get please.
