Hi...? "Newbie" here :)

Hello guys...my name is Nina, i am 21 years old and i have a suspicion that i might be aspie...

Early this year i was in one of my trances through the internet ( :D ) when i read for the first time, the symptoms of Asperger's Syndrome, then i found out this forum and now here i am!:D

The more i read the posts the more it blows my mind because i identify too much with a lot of them....

So that's it! Still reading about it all.

p.s this is the first time ever that i use an online forum so please forgive some mistake that i may have done in this post :D

Hi there!
I did the exact same thing and wound up on this forum ... and haven't left :D
It really is a 'light bulb' moment reading traits that you thought were yours alone and realising that there are many others. Just. Like. You. (only different :D)

This, too, is my first online forum-thingy. We can be newbies together!

Hope you find it as enlightening and comforting as I did after the initial shock and confronting aspect of it all settled down.

Hi Nina. I don't mean to doubt your ability to diagnose yourself, but many people who are new to the idea of being on the spectrum make use of the tests here - Aspie tests , so I thought I'd offer the link.

I found out rather recently, it was between the last Christmas and New Year's that a friend suggested that I might be autistic, and I'm more than twice your age. Many people on here have found out rather late in life. It's becoming more common to be diagnosed as a kid, but you're certainly not alone in having that 'whoa, so this is what's been going on my whole life' moment. Not moment, exactly, it takes a few days... you know what I mean. It's an experience. Welcome.

Hello!

I don't want to discourage you but I'm always a little bit worried with people who read up on these things on the internet and jump to conclusions like any condition they read about. There will be a certain amount about Asperger's that you can identify and that's like that for most people. The only real way you can find out is going to a doctor who knows about Asperger's in females. I know that isn't always an easy task. I'm sure I'm telling you stuff you already aware of. But I just like to perhaps put a little pause for thought there, I guess.

Regardless, you are of course welcome to partake in discussions. Not like you need my permission or anything though.

Enough rambling. Welcome and dive in!

Definitely the right place to explore your "suspicions".

Hi there, guys, it's been a while!!!

Thank you all!!! I felt very good here since the very first time and for your welcoming ^^

I have to apologize for the late reply, my life has been not easy lately(death related stuff), so i didn't have the time.

I also got to say that i am not a native english speaker and since i'm still learning it, there will be some mistakes.

And to make a short update, i am now sure of my aspie condition after months thinking about my life and my difficulties, things that i didn't understand and still don't understand very well like: why i didn't have any friends until the last year of elementary school when one kind soul tried to get close to me and accepted me even being quiet as i was, elementary school was the seven most lonely and painful years of my life, by this time i also used to have a lot of paranoid thoughts(ok, i didn't know how to have a conversation:tearsofjoy:, i would just sit there on the chair and watch like they were different beings, but still) i don't know why not any single one tried to talk to me or to teach me how to be a friend, ( i only realised that it was a normal thing to have friends and that i didn't have one on seventh grade). I still don't understand also why the teachers didn't do anything about it :rage: Now i realize that i was totally neglected, by school, by family, parents... it's so... :rage::rage::rage: frustrating

But anyways, that's just one aspect, there is so much more that i can't even put it in words here... Thanks again you all, the world seem to be little better now :kissingheart:

Hi, thank you very much!:) I know exactly what you mean, thanks i will do the test. To be honest, after all these months, i don't even have a doubt, after all this time i started to remember of so many things of my past that i never understood, and thought that something was wrong with me(at first i used to think that other people were wrong and they were the different ones:tearsofjoy:), and now i know why...I am the different one and still it's not a bad thing! It's kind of a relief! Maybe i'll do some posts about my experiences and childhood later :)
