Hi, SD_David here!

Hi! I'm 28, British (Hampshire, and originally from Norfolk) and I have Aspergers Syndrome; officialy diagnosed since I was 11. I used to know alot of IRL aspies when I was at college and university but since going into the big wide world I've just known NT's around me, so I came here to get that 'autism community' feeling again. :)

My hobbies include learning French, travling, drawing, and reading too much about military history.

Welcome. I am 34, female from the UK and going through the assessment and diagnosis process, still awaiting my second assessment appointment. My hobbies at the moment are film/analogue photography (collecting equipment, admiring analogue photographs AND taking them) and learning Danish (though my interest seems less worth it since Brexit).

Thanks! :D I hope the assessments are going well for you, I remember having mixed feelings when I was first assessed and then years afterwards having extra assessments.

If anything Brexit could make your skill more unique since there could be less native Danes to translate. That does remind me of how my military history learning (especialy focused on vehicles) felt less unique once games like World of Tanks became popular!

Hello!

I don't read much in the way of military history, but last year I did devour The Colditz Story. Fascinating stuff.

Aye there was a good documentary on that a while ago.

Welcome, David! I hope you enjoy it here at AC! :)

Thanks :)

Welcome from HongKong.
I like drawing and writing. ('m self-studying French):)

I was doing formal studies and now self-studying, along with sometimes being in France. It has became a second home really. Unfortunately I've never been to HongKong but I've always wanted to, as it seems like it has a mixture of British and Chinese culture.

That's great! France is beautiful, I would like to go there someday, especially Marseille(!)
Yes, a mixture of British and traditional Chinese culture (I clarify this because we Cantonese culture is quite different from North-Chinese culture, we don't have dumplings and Mantou for breakfast, which confused many foreigners, including my ex-German teacher), if you're a foodie, you'd probably enjoy here. :)

Thanks, I do miss the days when I was on forums like this one so I hope to get that feel back. :)
I'm positive you'll get that feeling back...I Can't Fight This Feeling is what I'm listening to right now. I'm a forum virgin truthfully as AC is my first time ever signing up for a community as this. I have been here about a month now and I love it, must get a daily dose of it. :p

Aah I've been on forums ever since I was a teenager, only that it's been a while since I've been on aspie forums. :)

Welcome!!! If you enjoy military history, you might want to start a thread on it. I'm sure there are several of us that would most definitely participate. In the mean time, browse around, meet the gang, and make some new friends along the way.

Thanks, I'll think about it! Perhaps a recognition game.

HI & welcome,
I have always been into military history. An addict I think almost. Sooo... Do you think the British/Allied army could have won at Waterloo without the Prussian intervention? ;)

Hi, that's a good question. I think the Allies won because of Prussia but it would've still been a hard and bloody battle for Napoleon if the Prussians weren't there.

That is about what I think as well. It's a hard call. The Prussians certainly had a dramatic affect on the battle but the Allies (the stronger units anyway) were not morally broken and in a good position. They very well may have held there ground that day even alone. And that was all they needed to do to accomplish their goal that day.

Indeed. The non-Prussian Allies were outnumbered but not to a hopless degree; they were well trained with good morale and the French had the disadvantages of having unfavourable weather for their artillery and (at least according to France) Napoleon couldn't ride his horse as well or even at all as he had piles, making him less able to view and command the battlefield.

Yes, the tactical control of the French was particularly bad that day. Crude frontal assaults
