Diagonally parked in a parallel universe
Just a note to say Hello again. I was on this forum last year as Self Diagnosed but riddled with doubt and not very well tbh.

I'm 43 and have just received a formal diagnosis and advised that it was 'pretty clear'. Still in a bit of shock really, despite it being me who recognised and pushed it through to this stage. my jaw still kind of dropped upon being told.

Anyway I have came back on here as I found it really helpful and insightful the last time. It's interesting to hear the views and experiences of those who have had many years under the Autistic Umbrella.

Congratulations! And being shocked with the actual diagnosis, even if you fully believe you are on the spectrum is normal. I was absolutely shocked and almost disbelieving. It's only within the last few months that I've really accepted it and adopted that identity. You're perfectly normal :) I'm glad you're here and happy for you.

Cheers! It's been hanging over me for a while and felt like I was in limbo so it's a relief that I can start to move forward at last. It does help that people who have experienced the same situation can relate or maybe advise. :-)

Yeah, that's what I like about 'here' as well. Because there isn't the intimidation factor present on most sites, people can give their real thoughts.
