Hi ya !
I have just discovered and joined this forum. Should I tell you all about myself in this introduction? Maybe not yet............just to say I have recently done a lot of research and concluded that what sums up my lifelong 'difficulties' is that I have Aspergers. I am thinking of getting a diagnosis but I'm not ready for the journey yet. I wish I had known sooner as it would have saved a lot of angst.
Anyway - greetings to you all out there & I hope to be chatting with some of you soon.

Hi there Justme -just to say i have only been on the forum one day-well done for getting here-its taken me over a year and a lifetime to be on any forum- diagnosed or not if this helps you feel more accepted and understood this is where you should be! i am in Essex and have made some good useful contacts with people fighting our corner to help those already diagnosed but then left out in the cold such as myself and those awaiting diagnosis who are struggling to access the appropriate services. if you need any help please feel free to ask.
 
would've saved me a lot of angst too if i knew earlier. how i wish someone would've told me when i was a child and thought i was a freak! i was so ashamed of my stimming and thought i was cold and heartless because i couldnt make friends.
later, i was ashamed of my difficulties in lighting matches. i broke quite a few and was afraid, and i was a grown woman...
i was diagnosed by a fellow aspie at work, whom i met at random. i'd get a diagnose right now if i could afford it.
i'm glad you understood what it was that caused all your difficulties, even if you dont have a formal diagnosis yet.
you'll love this forum. those are the only people i can somehow connect with. everyone else seem like aliens to me... no one understands me, except for here.
