Hi y'all. Although I am currently living in the southern US, I am from the north originally. Conversation here in the South is maddening for someone like me, as it is considered rude to simply get to the point. There is a sort of conversational "dance" one must participate in before actual information can be exchanged.

I have recently discovered that I likely have Asperger's, pretty late in life (I am in my early 50s). I am scheduled for testing several weeks from now, the earliest I could get in. My therapist believes it is likely that I am an Aspie, and I have scored 155 (with an NT score of 46) on this online quiz: Aspie-quiz

I have read through some of the forum threads but don't seem to see too many members in my age group. Anybody out there? I don't generally dwell on the past but I can imagine that my life may not have been so very hard had I been diagnosed earlier. I have struggled with everything. Still, I am young enough to have a future, and I hope that an official diagnosis may provide me with access to help in getting myself sorted out.

I look forward to being a part of this community.
