The dreadful part of always getting to a new forum/circle. The introduction. I'm always at loss.

I'm European, trans man aged 34. I started diagnosis but I'm putting it out, since it may hinder my transition plans.

I live computer games (MMO), books (fantasy & science fiction), manga, learning languages, photography, solo travels and nature. I prefer dogs to cats. If not for RPG, I would be really a wld animal. And I love creating worlds and languages. I'm making my own world and languages for it.

Looking forward to chat with people.

Hi. Welcome. Been here about a month myself. I'm a 29 year old girly in the UK. I have found everyone here great. It's a really open, friendly vibe and they have answered all my inane questions and silly concerns and showed no judgement whilst doing it. Hope you find whatever you're looking for here! All the best!

Welcome!
Which languages have you already learned or are you learning at the moment?
I started to create an own language some time ago, but paused after a while. I wasn't sure what to do about all the grammar and how I would like to do it, so I stopped.
Do you have a kind of system you follow to create your languages?
I still like the idea of creating my own langage though. Maybe I should just get my notes and continue...
How detailed have you worked out the languages for your world? How many do you plan to create?

Thanks for the explanation. Well, I mostly look for people who I could talk to and not be the odd one that is usually misunderstood. ;) Finding similar people is enough, I think.

I'm not sure if I should pursue diagnosing further.

I can watch films in: English, Indonesian, Japanese, Polish and probably Malaysian and Russian. Basic level of Korean, German and Norwegian. I have more on my list to learn, including Persian and Icelandic.

Well, for my world I had to create 3 separate languages: the legendary, the aristocratic and the common. The idea was for them to be from the most complex to the easiest tho still retain some features, as it's the same language, just evolving. I'm using the languages I'm interested in (Akkadian too *.*) and mix them.
The most important thing for me was to make some basic roots: non-gendered language and the attitude to formality and closeness (for example, the higher one can be formal or familiar to their servant, etc.). That was the frame on which I started working. I haven't finished it, yet. I dropped it lately... unfortunately.

I needed the frame and the greetings the curse words the most so I could describe the culture. But I plan on going more detailed. The direction depends on the Wiki I'm creating and the stories I write. Or try to write.

Last years kept me really low and I'm starting to finally do some creative work. Oh, I do write poems lately.

Wow, that's impressive.
How did you learn those languages? Did you take courses? Or did you learn online or with books?

When I tried to create my language I was influenced by the languages I already know, mostly by Latin regarding grammar structure.
But then I found that kind of too complicated and I wanted it to be more individual and a bit easier, so I got rid of some of the rules I created and re-structured it a bit. You just made me thinking more about it again, I think I'll re-start again soon. It's actually too fascinating to leave it unfinished. Languages are quite fascinating in general.

One of them is obviously my native. The others, it was either courses at school/university or living there. I can pick up at least words in another language if I'm exposed enought to it. I do learn them online/from books to not forget.

You reminded me to get back to it, again. Thanks, too.

I dug up some poem from 12 years ago. :D

I want a world

I want a world, where I can be myself
I want a world, where I don't have to put on mask
I want a world, where I can smile when I'm happy
I want a world, where I can cry when I'm sad
I want a world, where I can love you, my dear
I want a world, where I am not bizarre
I want a world, where I can be myself

And from 14 years ago :D

Your path

You shall see
The demon
Awaiting you

You shall hear
Screams of death
Surrounding you

You shall feel
Pain of innocents
Made by you

You will come
We will be walking
Together forever

On the path of
Blood and pain
And death

No poems in English from the last several months. Hmm, I should try that too. :D

Gorazd

I was impressed by "Path."
It seemed quite Klingon to me, particularly
the last 3 lines.
So I ran it through a translator.

Now I am wondering if that was an obnoxious thing to do.:confused:
Maybe it is only awkward and nerdy.

If the appraisal my thinking I should translate someone's
poetry into Klingon gets = 'awkward & nerdy' that would be OK. :)

Hi again. I studied Latin and that helped like another poster said. I'm currently learning Esperanto using Duolingo. I love it!

Tree, looks great. Thanks. Now where is the Klingon voice app so I can actually listen to it? :D

I was studying Latin too, in high school. Helped me learn Japanese, or so I believe. ;)

PS. How do you mention people in posts?
