Hi :)

xudo

something and nothing
Hi, I'm new here :relieved: I'm 30, and have just recently been diagnosed with aspergers. My husband was diagnosed with atypical autism last year and until we went through the process of him being diagnosed, I'd never really considered that I might be on the spectrum. I'd always just assumed that I was weird and the things that I did and didn't do had no cause other than that just being who I was. It's been enlightening really to discover that there's a reason for my behaviours. I'm interested in being able to meet other people on here who understand and chat without (hopefully) any awkwardness :grimacing:

Hello-Smiliy.gif

I notice in your signature that you have tourettes. I've never come across somebody else either on a forum or in rl who has this in common with me :)

I've tried searching for forums for people with tics and I get nothing, the ones that are out there are barren. I've come across the odd other person on forums for others things like this one or mental health but there aren't many. And they say that about 1 in 100 people have tics? I've met two other people with tics in real life, my sister and a guy that goes to a peer support group I attend, neither of which have it like I do.

Well it's always nice to meet another person with the same conditions as myself.

Yeah, when I've tried looking for forums or groups on Facebook they seem to mainly be for parents of children with tics. Although with Facebook at least, the same could be said of many groups for aspies.

Welcome! I do not have tourettes but I do have tics. I had never really thought about them much until getting diagnosed with AS.

Welcome aboard, a late welcome I admit. I see you are a new AC all-star. Thank you for joining this community, bringing energy, and greetings to new members.
Your contributions are appreciated.
