Hi! I'm a 28 yr old college student in love with a 24 yr old Asperger's man, also a college student. We have been dating for three years. I think he is wonderful and amazing! :) I live in Southern California. I'm an American of Mexican ancestry. My mother was born in Mexico, and my father, a 3rd generational American citizen of Mexican ancestry, grew up in a small town near the Mexican border. I have 3 younger siblings, two of which are in college studying for a premed degree. The third just started college and is interested in engineering. I can speak a little Spanish, but I excel at English and love literature. I also love art, fashion, and psychology. I'm interested in earning a B.A. in English (literature), and, after, earning a M.A. in therapy or a law degree. For more info, visit my profile. :)

This is rather interesting as a matter of fact and I actually know a friend who has just been supportive of me and I've been supportive of her and she seems to be far more understanding ever since I told her I have autism but anyways, welcome to Aspies Central. :D

Hey there Karlita. Welcome to the forum.

I've always wanted to visit Mexico. Some of my childhood friends used to live there.

Hi, Superboyian! I recall your username from WP. I just joined that website, as well. I definitely became more supportive and understanding of my boyfriend after I learned about his self-diagnosis (he is currently looking into an assessment for AS, which was recommended by his therapist). It came as relief for me. I was finally able to put a name to his behavior. I regret our past misunderstandings and wish I'd known about his AS sooner. He's pretty sure he has AS. I bookmarked on his computer some links to various autism and AS tests and he scored within the ranges for AS. I took the tests myself just to see how well they were calibrated (I'm very empathetic and good at reading people) and they seemed very accurate. I hope is diagnosis will help improve his quality of life. Thanks for the welcome to this site! :)

Hi, ???! Thank you for the welcome to the AC forum. I've rarely visited Mexico, even though I live near the border. It is a beautiful country, but it is very dangerous near the border. There is a lot of crime. I visited Guadalajara 14 yrs ago with my mom, and found it very beautiful. The markets, the buildings, the museums, the people, and, of course, the food, were wonderful. My mom's always been pretty insistent on me not visiting Mexico because she considers it very unsafe. I'd love to visit Cozumel, though, when I get the chance. My parents don't seem to mind the idea too much. :)

Mr. Google,
I'm doing very well, just trying to sort out classes. I'm taking a Precalculus class (I've always wanted to take calculus for the heck of it), a world religions course (which is a late-start class I'm trying to get into), and a beginning Italian course. How are you? :)

I'm pretty good. My computer has been frustrating me a bit though.

Much patience is needed in raising and training a puppy. What kind of puppy do you have? Unfortunately, my laptop computer is not working now. My boyfriend is in the process of fixing it. I have to borrow other people's computers to use internet, but I usually have no problem obtaining access to computers. :)
