Hilariously silly internet slop

This is about the place I live, it says.

My S.O. and I started watching - and laughed and laughed and laughed.

It is true that if you ask the locals about Devil's Hollow they will not give you any information. This is because they've never heard of it.

None of the pictures have anything to do with Alpena, except that some pictures have pine trees. Also, the stupid AI pronounces "Alpena" at least 4 distinctly different ways.

Our historical wild past involved mostly drunken lumberjacks and houses of ill repute, so dark cloaked or heavily armored baddies should really be wearing red flannel. We just don't do cloaks and spiked armor here.

There are places with a reputation for being haunted - John Lau Saloon (burned down), the lighthouse, some of the old lumber baron houses.

Sounds a lot like other urban legends - saying they're in some specific town lends them credibility. But if you actually know the area, it all falls apart.

Here's another example: Mel's Hole. It's an urban legend about a supposedly bottomless pit. The Wikipedia page has a little information about the legend and a lot about all the failed attempts to find it or prove its existence.

That's about on par with almost all videos about Australia. The moment you hear that American accent you know the entire video is going to make you cringe with false facts and pictures of animals that don't exist in Australia.

I bet there's a big cover up of this stuff by the Illuminate
At first I wanted to ask if there was just one, since you wrote "illuminate" instead of "illuminati".

Then I thought, what if there was just one person in the illuminati? You couldn't get an organization more secret than that! :p

LOL - I also didn't use a period. My fingers fumbled and the post button somehow got pushed before I realized what was going on.

I think the Rosicrutians put a curse on me.

It is pretty funny. I do believe there are places in the world that have very dark spiritual history. I live in the state of Victoria Australia. In a remote town called Ararat is an insane asylum called Aradale. It’s a 500 hectare property that was self-sufficient in its time. it operated from 1850 to 1990. It has housed long term some of the most dangerous criminal psychotic criminals. it has a cemetery of over 13,000 graves. There are heaps and heaps of videos on YouTube about it. Most are a bit wacky. However, the site has attempted to be repurposed many times. None of them have worked. It’s reportedly one of the most haunted places in the world. I don’t generally take this stuff very seriously. But if you strip away the BS, maybe there is something there. I certainly believe this is the case with Aradale Insane Assylum.

Things like this is one of the reasons why I like exploring foreign languages. A lot of things told about a foreign country are either wrong or exaggerated.

There is, on the other side of the state, in Traverse City, one of those old asylums. They are being converted into fancy wine tasting bars, gift shop, and maybe condos.

I've watched a lot of horror movies and keep thinking "Maybe that's not a good idea."

(it's actually kind of cool)

Its is cool. Id like to watch before and after stories of the the people living there. Could be fun. There is an older asylum in Melbourne suburb Kew. This was completely re developed and the Victorian buildings from the original Asylum were turned into apartments. That all seems to be fine. I think people do like a good ghost story. I just don’t wanna live there though. 😜😊

I wish they'd quit restoring the old, creepy asylums......because they are getting rid of where my colleagues and I want to film some more of said horror movies. Haha.

Have you considered filming at Devil's Hollow?

(P.S. the word "hollow" to describe locations is never used here. That's a thing that is meaningful in the mountains. All we have are rolling hills.

Here, "Devil's Hollow" would refer to a log where a opossum or skunk lives.)

If we had the budget, we'd go anywhere, haha.

I've been wanting to use the one in Bolivar, TN forever. There are certain channels to go through, but I'm actually trying to use a possibly new one - someone with some clout who might get the greenlight.

It's always some stroke of luck in the end, though. It seems like it.
