How many of these lies did you tell your parents?

I'll go through it first to give you a heads up on my own answers.

10. Refusing to let your parents use your computer/phone: Not so much. For me, I just used a portable browser to have all the links to websites I liked to use (Aspiescentral included) and then used Google Chrome for normal browsing.
I should point out before I go any further that yes, during my teenage years I did go through periods of 'experimentation' and 'sexual discovery' as the majority of us do - that's nothing to be ashamed of.
However, the main reason was simply that I didn't want other people to see my normal stuff such as the various Autism/Spiritual social networks I used to visit, the wikis/other websites I would read from, etc.
The main reason for this was that years back, I had a YouTube account that I used to make AMVs on. However, one night while reading my comments and taking a toilet break, my brother clicked on the computer, saw I was logged in and left a load of stupid comments claiming I was gay.
While I rectified this as best I could, I decided after that not to have all I liked to use visible for everyone to see. So, I downloaded a portable browser and stored all my favorites on that before hiding the browser on my computer's main drive so I could access it when I wanted without anyone else accessing it to cause trouble/ridicule my interests.
In addition, I'm not a fan of smartphones and the Mobile phones I've had have been old and simple, so I never put photos or questionable material on them anyway.

9. Smoking and Drinking: Nope. I've never smoked and I'm alcohol intolerant. Any time I have had a sip of this foul-tasting 'nectar', it's often been my parents and/or siblings offering me a taste of it to try. The only drink I could tolerate was Strongbow Fruity Cider, and I rarely drink that as my body doesn't agree with it.

8. Homework: Nope - my parents made sure to ask if I had any homework. If I hadn't done it, I would openly admit it and - assuming there wasn't anything more urgent to do first or I couldn't do it for whatever reason - I'd get on with it.

7. Location, Location: Nope - I've never snuck out or gone places I shouldn't go. I respect my parents too much to do that.

6. Friend's Mum: I may have tried this one as a little kid, but I can't remember any specific instances.

5. I Don't Know: Yeah, I've been guilty of this a few times as a child and got a fair few smacks across my hand or backside as a result - especially as I was a crappy liar.

4. The Blame Game: Yeah, I've done this - although my siblings did it a lot more then I did. Anytime anything happened and my mother shouted at us, my younger brother would automatically blame me.

3. Sick Day: Nope - most times I've been perfectly content to go to school, even if I was feeling a bit under the weather. It's only when I'm genuinely ill that'll I'll stay off school, and even then I'd spend my time watching the educational stuff on BBC2's Learning Zone such as Words and Pictures, Numbertime Shapes, Megamaths, Science Zone, Cats Eyes, Come Outside, Look and Read, etc.

2. I'll do it tomorrow: Yeah, I'm guilty of this even as an adult. While there are times when I had to do something the next day (needing the internet/printer at the librbary, for instance), there are times were I'm just lazy or feel that something I have to do can be delayed.

1. I can't pause: I've done this a few times, but only when the game I'm playing genuinely doesn't let me pause (which wasn't many and those that didn't pause were GBA games).

So, what about you guys?

10. Computer Use: No, home computers didn't exist when I was a child. The comparison I might make, is parents attempting to read personal letters or journals or diaries. Something they probably did do.
9. Drinking & Smoking: A parent and a grandparent smoked, it was easy to help yourself. They discovered that I smoked as a teen when one of my friends was seen smoking. When asked I said yes. Drinking, I experimented as a teen, father's port, mother's sherry, which tasted terrible. Yuck.
8. Homework: didn't do any, or didn't have any until high school. All homework was completed during the school day, at school, during the hour long afternoon rest period.
At high school unless it was a subject I liked, biology for example, I got away with doing none. In fact it was the quizzes that were most important. Rarely failed them.
7. Location: Never snuck out, my Father had the best hearing ever. Wouldn't have dared. Also there were no trees or rooves close to the bedroom windows on the second floor, it would not have been possible.
6. Friend's Mom: Although my Mother often used her best friends children as exemplary models, my understanding of my own friends mothers was never used as a comparison.
5. I don't know: Too honest and truthful as a child, could never do this.
4. Blame Game: My siblings blamed me, don't recall every doing it to them.
3. Sick Day: I don't think I ever pretended to be sick, although I did skip school quite a bit at the high school level. My parents both worked, so I hid until they left for work. Still did quite well on the government exams. The following day in case the school called, I disabled the phone from ringing.
2. First Day tomorrow: Never, procrastination was not allowed.
1. I can't Pause: Video games were not around when I was a child. The only similarity I imagine related to this, is putting off returning home at mealtimes, being late was inexcusable.

Lies...parents...military household.

Not allowed per the Uniform Code of Military Justice. That is all. Carry on....;)

But then "Don't ask, don't tell" applied on occasion. :p

The only thing I lied about was smoking (not cigarettes ;) ) and drinking.
My mum wasn't upset when she found out, my dad was furious.

My Dad tried to emulate his Dad in the discipline department and it didn't work for him.

I had issue with authority and the harder he came down on me the the worse I rebelled.

He ruined it for himself though because I now strongly dislike him and still fear him.

I can relate to numbers 5,4,3, and 2.

I say I don't know an awful lot, especially when I can't think of anything.

I blame my mother-in-law, even if she didn't do anything.

I sometimes have a sick day just to get out of school and stay home, especially when my school is the only one that didn't snow out.

I am a big time procrastinator. I say I'll do anything tomorrow, but would rather be on my laptop.

10. Computer Use: Sometimes, but rare
9. Drinking & Smoking: Hell yeah. I don't know how I went so long without getting caught smoking...or drinking for that matter. I was never a regular smoker, just something when me and my friends hung out together. It's something I never got hooked on
8. Homework: All the time.
7. Location: This one was rarely an issue. One time my best friend and I told a tale and went to a halloween party 500km away while saying we were going to his cousins house.
6. Friend's Mom: While my previous one might be related. As a general rule this would have never worked. My mom would have called the other supposed mom. I wouldn't even try.
5. I don't know: Sometimes
4. Blame Game: Maybe sometimes when I was very little. This was not often an issue.
3. Sick Day: I would have done this a few times. Not often.
2. First Day tomorrow: Absolutely.
1. I can't Pause: Surprisingly no to this one. My dad played video games also so I couldn't pull the wool over his eyes with this one. Ironically in my adult life this was an irritating truth when I was with my ex. A surprising number of modern games will not let you pause during cut scene videos. She would get quite annoyed when trying to talk to me. The Mass effect series was a bad offender.

11. One more
I'll add one more because I'm maybe a little surprise there is nothing sexual related on the list. Maybe it's not too far from the smoking drinking category.

When I was 17 or 18 my parents didn't know I smoked. My dad needed to borrow my old beater of a car (an old 80's Ford Tempo) because his car was getting repaired or something. When he came back he in an irritated tone said that he "found my stash." My heart skipped a couple beats as I tried hard to think what he could have found. I didn't do drugs but I drank and smoked sometimes, I concluded I must have left a pack of smokes in there somewhere.
I asked somewhat legitimately "Stash of what?"
"Condoms!"
It took me a few seconds to piece that one together. I actually had to laugh. You see in 2003 I had seen Ozzy Osbourne in concert in Toronto. After the show there were representatives for Trojan condoms all around outside the stadium giving away Trojans by the hand full. I tucked these into the trunk lining of my car. They were eventually forgotten about. By the time my dad used the car which could have been many months or even a year later, they had worked their way into the spare tire compartment. I found the irony pretty hilarious. I was about as popular with the ladies as toenail fungus and sure as hell didn't have any actual use for the condoms (hence why I had forgotten about them). I found it actually funny that my dad was irritated by the finding. I may have felt even a little smug that he actually thought I was getting laid.

He further asked "Couldn't you at least store them in someplace clean?"

Me "Umm I don't know (5)"

I then made an effort to leave the area. He thankfully didn't want to pursue the subject any further.
