Hello everyone. :D I joined a few days ago and after browsing around a bit I decided that perhaps I should introduce myself. This seems like a great group of supportive people and I look forward to being a part of it. I have not officially been diagnosed with Aspergers, but am pretty sure that I am an Aspie. :P I am 25 years old and have always struggled socially. Even now it is very difficult for me to make and maintain friendships. I never felt like I fit in with society and feel like I am treated worse than other people. It has always frustrated me because I can't think of anything that I am doing wrong, I am just different... and I really don't know how to change that.

I was diagnosed with NLD (nonverbal learning disorder) about 10 years ago and I find it really strange that the psychologist who diagnosed me was unable to help me, even though she supposedly specializes in the disorder. She didn't even have any information or references for me so that I could get help with my struggles. The more I read about Aspergers and NLD, the more I think that Aspergers is more accurate and covers more of the issues that I have been having my whole life.

Anyway, I joined here in hopes of finding some answers to my questions and the opportunity to connect with others who are similar to me so I can stop feeling like such an isolated outcast. From what I can tell thus far, I think this place can be a great thing for me. :D

Welcome! Welcome Welcome...We are glad to have you here. Please feel free to hang around. We're pretty supportive place. Jump on in the waters nice and warm :)

Hi Vindexa!

Welcome to the forum. I hope you do decide that you really like it here. I doubt that fitting in will be a problem as we are a very diverse & accepting lot. Thanks for sharing some details about yourself. I look forward to getting to know you better.
