Hi everyone,

My name's Steve and I'm a 35 year old male, from the UK.

I was recently (6 months ago) diagnosed with the syndrome formerly known as Aspergers!

The diagnosis has been a relief, and by the looks of other horror stories I've read, pretty painless. It was only about 7 months from me speaking to my doctor to receiving an official diagnosis.

Hi there and welcome to AC!

7 months is very quick - took me 18months to wait from going to my GP and getting the official diagnosis appointment (which, I was told afterwards, was made after only about ten minutes of talking to me!). Mind you, they lost my referral letter which meant 12 months of waiting with nobody knowing anything about it(!!!!!)

Im sure you'll find it enjoyable here - it's a good bunch of people

That sounds about right! I got referred without them telling me and I only found out by chasing them up! Still lucky to have got to that stage at all I guess.

Welcome Steve, here Aspergers is still a relevent term. We still see a distinction here between Autism and Aspergers.
