Halloween isn’t about dressing up intricately as nobody will care about what my cosplay is. At this point idk what to do. I really like cosplay and said it shouldn’t be done unless there’s a reason to like a costume party. What should I do?

I’m going with my friend and her younger siblings (11 and 5). I may as well go for it anyways. Screw conformity.Do it anyway! Have fun with it. Take some photos. Maybe go for a walk and give candy out to little kids in the neighborhood. Get all dressed up and do something mundane like buying groceries. Who cares about a good reason for it if you love doing something.
100%People like to dress up. It's fine to do it for yourself.
on the feast of St Lucy, young girls would wake up very early and dress all in white with a headdress of lighted candles, and greet the dawn by singing and bringing pastries to other family members. This ended with the Protestant Reformation and a pushback against the celebration of saints' days but it's somehow back in business and St Lucy's day in Sweden remains a day for holiday lights, hymns, and dessert.
