I got a message on Facebook last night asking to meet a girl in Town!

I didn't go as I was out Christmas shopping at Meadowhall, but I probably wouldn't have gone anyway, call me a Snob if you like but I hate people who use text speak online, it's not mobile phones, there's usually no character limits.

Should I be wary of this girl? Stranger Danger and all that? Plus I had a couple of matches on Tinder last week, but as much as I'd like to go on a Tinder date, I think my Parents would have a meltdown if I got into the dating game at my age, especially with me being Aspie.

I want the whole thing though, marriage and kids, but at 41 I think that if I was ever intended to tie the knot Id've done it years ago and our Harvey and Lauren would've had Cousins from Uncle Rich long ago.

I'm waiting for a call from The Undateables in the next few weeks to see if I get on the next series but I doubt it given the Southern bias of the show.

My two cents are that you should prepare for the worst and hope for the best, though in all honesty, cynicism is tiring, so I'll just say that I hope it all goes well, and remember to be realistic (that sweet spot between optimism amd cynicism).

try having a backup plan. like have something fun to do in the area you're in if possible I case things don't work out, such as if the person doesn't show up. Also, I'd contact them the day of to make sure they are meeting with you. If no response by the time you have to leave, tell them that something came up but also offer to reschedule.

If it was a message out of the blue from someone you don't know I'd be highly suspicious of the whole thing. Reminds me a little too much of the "there are 100 hot singles in your area!" banners.
