My generator died and I need a generator to run my air conditioning. There is really no alternative as yet to a traditional compressor driven AC, nor is there any AC less than 5000btu. A new generator would cost around US$1000. My mom just spent $1500 on my car and is making $800/mo payments on the loan that she had to take out for my dental work. She simply can't afford a new generator. So I'm back in Sacramento for the rest of the summer. I will be able to move back to Jefferson after the main part of the summer heat has passed, probably in late October. Hopefully by spring 2024 I will be able to buy a new generator as well as materials for my chicken coop/run.

The heat is getting out of hand here too. Today it's been so hot I went outside, heat wave hit me and I felt dizzy soon, I had to get back home and forget my shopping plans.

I have had the fan on for a long time and it doesn't seem to get any better. Can't imagine not having any cooling system if it gets bad, I used to pull through without any, but some days are extreme.

My friend maybe losing her home. She can't fix her carport roof. The park wants her home demolished and they will put up a new house for sale. She has about 8 cats. I am so sad. She will have a hard time finding cheap rental. And getting 9 cats into it.

Yep, my mom suggested buying a trailer park home at one point, but I had already researched that and the rent would have been half my check, and that was 2018. The other big problem with trailer parks is that somebody else owns the land, and it's past the point where most of the parks that are in urban areas are in a situation where the land is worth far more than the trailers and people on it. Increasing numbers of parks are being bought up by huge real estate corporations from the descendants of the founders, then everybody gets kicked out, the trailers are demolished, and shiny new apartment buildings that only the very wealthy can afford go up in their place. The poor then get to be playthings for sadistic police as homeless people.

I own my own acreage, despite the supposed HOA that popped up a couple years ago, and pay property taxes. I pay around $90 a year in property taxes.

It seems as if the capitalists are bent on proving Marx right that capitalism would in the end only offer lifetime, inherited chains to most people, thus making the value of revolution far greater, even if it meant the poor might die, since the chains would be a living death anyway.

The parks in Florida, some corporate entities do make decent money, with way less headaches, and you can live close to the beach without buying a million dollar home. However, hurricanes demolished one park, and the park decided to close down, because it can't get the park cleaned up in Tampa. People are having a harder time insuring their homes, some claim they paid 1800 a year, and now the yearly has jumped to 5400, and the insurer says they can only reimburse 45% of a total wipe out of their home. Farmer's insurance just left Florida. If you buy a condo, you can easily pay 400+ monthly in association fees, and get hit with a huge assessment if your complex isn't deemed structurally sound, you can be assessed at 100,000 on up to bring the building to code. No thanks, l don't think owing a home is at the top of my list anymore. It's good to think outside of the traditional house.

Mom is now saying that if I want to buy another generator, I will pay for it myself. So I have to save as much money as I can and try to buy a generator during this coming winter. That also means that I can't move back until the summer is over and the heat subsides.

Fair play I guess. You've got this, right?
