I just need a little Aspie perspective

Hi
I am a 24year old female, and I was diagnosed with Aspergers barely a month ago, and it has been a strange sensation looking at my life with different eyes, making sense of old incidents, and being aware of why I act like I do now.
I found this forum simply because there is so much information out there, I barely know where to start, and I have no one to really discuss the information with.
I think by now my mom is sick of hearing about Asperger traits and habits!
but mostly I just want to talk to people where, when I say: "I have to cook alone because other people dice the veggies wrong", they will recognize something in it and not just dismiss it as being weird. And having people I can ask how to handle a certain social (or other) situation, that won't act like it is obvious.

I don't even know how or where to begin explaning it to people around me or if it is even something I want everyone to know.

And I really don't know what else to say in this post.

Hi Linika Par

Welcome to AspiesCentral. :)

I've the reverse situation in that my kids are sick of me telling them of aspie traits ha. :D

Thanks!

haha, yeah I guess it can become a little tedious for people who aren't Aspies. :)
Guess it is like when my sister talks about "the traffic on the way home from work" to me, and I try to crawl out the window, cause it is so boring

Welcome aboard :)
You have found a friendly and helpful community. Best wishes.

Welcome.
Finding the description of Aspie traits has helped me understand a lot about life that bewildered me for years. This site is really helpful. People are very nice.

Welcome to AC. Perhaps the most important thing to say is that you are not alone. It is weird, but gratifying to discover we all aren't the only person in the universe who thinks and reacts as we do. :)

Just understand that you won't likely get only a "little" perspective here. But more likely a LOT! ;)

I've known since I was 7 and I still don't.
Not sure if that's helpful or not but yeah.
