I noticed in the NY Times obituaries that Dr. Lorna Wing, a British psychiatrist known for her knowledge of Autism, had died. I found the article very interesting because she described AS as the "mildest form of Autism." I don't like the term "high functioning" because it can be painful for severely affected Autistics think of themselves as "low functioning." She mentioned AS as the mildest form of Autism and I finally have a way to describe myself since the term of AS is no longer proper. She was an interesting researcher in the field of Autism and had a child who was diagnosed with the problem at the age of three. Her husband was also a psychologist and an expert on Autism. Here is the URL so anyone interested can read the article.
