I finally decided to share with the world my stories, poetry and insights. I have high functioning autism and was abused as a child because I never could meet expectations. Because I was smart, I think normalcy was expected, even demanded from me and no understanding for my difficulties.

Please check out my blog at www.turndownthelights.com and if you like it please share it in any way you know how to share. I am hoping my stories and poetry may help other parents and caregivers to be as gentle and understanding as possible in dealing with kids on the spectrum, no matter how difficult or stubborn they may seem to be. Only those living with autism themselves can truly begin to understand it.
