I want good times with good friends, solid sobriety, better physical and mental health, and only I have the power to make all of that my reality.

Forget those other fools. I have my own life to live. Let's light up a cigar to celebrate life on my own terms for a change.

I will start by getting off the bus about a mile away from my usual stop and taking a leisurely walk home from there.

A good walk can actually be pretty good for stress relief.

It looks like you are breaking the cycle that keeps you unhappy. What you are doing by getting off the bus and walking is demonstrating conscious strength. Congratulations - you figured out the strategy.

What doesn't kill us, only makes us stronger, what we can't let go of, we need to find healthy outlets to release that anger, and walking sounds like a perfect thing to do. I have trips planned for the beach, it is so relaxing to see the waves come in, it's very meditative thing for me. Do you have any parks or beaches to walk thru? My ex and l drive to grave sites. Some are so peaceful and quiet.

I plan on frying some leftover rice for dinner tonight.

And playing Baldur’s Gate III all night long.

A part of me wants to go out tomorrow night, go to a jazz bar, pay a cover charge, get an appetizer and a non-alcoholic drink, and enjoy the band for a while.
