I will continue to suck at forums

I just don't understand social interaction and I find it hard to stay engaged with any form of social media.
Oh Hi, I'm Ash, Australian and long story short I'm also a musician.

I usually get in trouble for being transparent but I'm also a slow learner so I'm going to be forthright and let you know I came here to ask dating advice.

In other news, I'm seeing a professor of Autism in a month. I don't have a real diagnosis but I do have an arm-long list of other diagnoses that all point to one thing:

Avoidant Personality
Depression
Anxiety
PTSD
Undifferentiated Pain Disorder
and Coeliac Disease
on the Myers-Briggs scale I'm: INTP.

I was clumsy as a child, had no friends, made one in my late teens and stupidly married it. We're now divorced. I'm funny, honest, loyal and people hate me.

Welcome Ash.
This is a good place to just be yourself and not worry being judged or a need to mask.
We have good moderators that keep things right.

Hi there, Ash

You did not do a bad job of introducing yourself at all.

When I first discovered one can interact with others online, it frightened the living day lights out of me, but what helped me, was a site called: yahoo answers. One day, I took the courage and posted a question and goodness me, I got a good 30 replies and they were fun and that was the start of my easing up of extreme low self esteem.

I hate forums for one reason. They are too static, whereas this forum is contineous. Always new posts and very, very supportive and that comes from someone who finds it horrendeously difficult to communicate with others.

Unless you are rude or defamitory to others, you will quickly find that you fit in.

I married someone who promised to take care of me for the rest of my life and really, our marriage is a disaster, but we keep at it, because we can compare the negatives to the positives and in fairness, neither of us are innocent, so it takes a lot of facing up to truths, but hey, we have been married now for 28 years.

Hey dude- welcome.

What’s pain disorder? I need to look this up.

I’m not to good on forums either. I’ve got some pretty serious reading disorders. I tend to re ask questions and everyone gets mad and says use the “search” function but it’s painful for me to dig. So I usually keep my posts short.

Ash or whatever your name is, forums are really just meant to be a hobby. Most people online act like a-holes about things. I've had so much bother from people. The Internet is useful, but it's also very toxic. Essentially, nutballs do what they do online as it's easy to get away with picking on others from behind the comfort of a screen. It's also worth muting, blocking and generally brushing off people that try to get a rise out of you. Even mentioning them by name is enough to get them thinking you care. Also, yeah, I do think message boards are pointless. Sometimes, it also depends on the subject matter. Gaming forums are usually rather vile.

I hadn't even considered it a possibility to "suck at forums" I missed out on a perfectly good thing to worry about! :(
