An Aspie guy, in an NT world, tryna make a livin'
Hi All,

A dear friend mentioned this forum to me, so I thought I would join.

I am 45 (Official Dx 2013, self Dx 2011) I separated from my wife in 2012 after 25 years together and nearly 20 married.
I have 2 sons, one being assessed for AS right now (he was the catalyst for me researching and self-diagnosing, as I believe is quite common.)

I am from Melbourne Australia, I was in the Australian Army for 9 years and have been continuously employed in the field of radio & telecommunications for 27 years.

I am a member of a local Australian Asperger's forum where I have contributed nearly 1300 posts in the past 2 years, but it is very quiet there and I have not posted there much in the past 6 months.

In this local forum I am quite open and honest (it is in my nature) and if I feel safe enough I expect it would be no different here.

I look forward to being a part of an active forum and hope to meet, converse and correspond with anyone who would like to.

Don't be a stranger ;)

Your username is amazing.

Most people here seem to be an honest lot. I haven't been a member for very long, but I've had great experiences so far. I'm sure it'll be the same for you!

welcome AspieCialGuy. It sounds to me that you have knowledge and experience that will really benefit us. I have been here for less than a month, but I feel a real sense of belonging. There is nobody in my small circle of family and friends who can truly understand what it's like to be an Aspie. I've been really lucky that my family readily accepted the diagnosis. To them it made sense, but all the same, they can't know what it feels like to be us.

Welcome back :)
