Hello, I'm Icarus75. I joined a few months ago, but I get on all that well because I was depressed and somewhat paranoid as a result of being bullied and manipulated on another Aspie forum. It may please a few of you to know that I got some pretty nasty revenge on the man responsible. It may seem morally wrong to others. I don't particularly care either way.

I wish I could tell you that my life (offline) had improved somewhat since I last visited Aspies Central, but instead, it has gotten substantially worse over the past few months.

I didn't want to burden people here with my negativity, so I went back to the larger AS community, Wrong Planet for a while, but CloudFlare, the security system used there has been malfunctioning and forcing hundreds of users to input a CAPTCHA every time they attempt to do ANYTHING on the site. This, coupled with a software bug, has incapacitated my ability topmost there at all. So, I will try Aspies Central again, but smaller forums very rarely work out for me, so I guess I'll just see how it goes.

Hello Icarus, don't worry about being a burden, this forum is here for you to unload and I don' think many people mind. I have tried other aspie forums but none of them are very inviting like this one, everyone I have spoken to have seemed very friendly and the moderators wont let any bullying go on here.
 
Thank you for your kind replies. The CAPTCHA problem on the other forum I post on has gotten out of control, so I won't be back there for at least a month.

What was the problem? Was the sky too blue for you? ;)

If you understand the meaning behind that, then it was definitely the same forum.

WP is the site that's been having issues with CloudFlare recently, but it's not the one I was bullied on a few months ago. If you were there, you'd definitely know who I was referring to in my last post.

I was around on WP during the incident you were involved in, and I'm sorry that you had such a negative experience there. There are some really nice people there, but the Politics, Philosophy, and Religion forum is a complete and utter cesspool. The main problem with that site is that it has become too big for it's own good. There are too many users there for any friendships or a sense of community to be formed. Forums often work similarly to real communities. WP is like an enormous, fractured city with thousands of inhabitants, and Aspies Central is like the small rural community you're always relieved to return to at the end of the day!

I have said this before but I will repeat it. I believe the forums with massive populations have a goodly number of cluster B personalities masquerading as aspies. These pathetic specimens have more serious social problems than us aspies.

I'm not so sure that this is true of the site we were discussing. Trolls are dealt with pretty quickly there, but the sub-forum in which Sportster posted is a particularly rough place mainly used for debate. People there can get very aggressive over innocent threads.

The fact that a person has to go to such lengths to spell the name of any other Asperger's forums should enlighten them to the fact that we don't approve of discussion of what goes on in those sites, whether it is a discussion of good or bad points is irrelevant. Talk about whatever you like but stick to the rules here, and a basic level of civility, mentioning other Asperger's forums can get back to the members there and seem like gossip, so either discuss it amongst yourselves in PM's or take it to another site.
