I'm starting to think my sister has AS

She can be really obsessive over anime; just got done with her ranting over hetalia, she was talking so fast I couldn't even piece together what she was saying; before the hetalia obsession it was: K-pop, soul eater, free…and in every case with her obsessiveness it was almost like looking in a mirror when I talk about my SIA

She also claims to have a mild case of OCD and she shows social anxiety as well

As far as we know I'm the only one in the family with AS and I'm aware it's genetic.

I don't think my parents know squat about aspergers at all, either that or they simply won't bring it up, I don't even know if she knows I have it…

So, should I bring it up with my parents and/or my sister…or should I keep my trap shut and let sleeping dogs lie?

Sounds like me about my interests too and I also speak fast when I'm excited,it could be a possibility that she has it,my older brother is autistic and I only found out last year by my psychologist that she strongly believes I'm on the spectrum, most of my family don't know what Aspergers even is and I usually don't mention it to people, but maybe it could be a good idea to mention it to your parents since it's better to know earlier and then find out later.

In general I don't reveal it to anyone except those very close to me that I trust. But I do not seek diagnosis or any autism related benefit or special accommodation. If you do feel you need medical/professional assistance then you may need to discuss it with your parents. Although it might be approached in a non-specific (not naming autism) manner.

QUICK UPDATE:

Brought this up with my therapist, he said to wait a bit, gather some thoughts and bring it up to my sister, not my parents. He said to wait about a week, but I couldn't keep that to myself for another week, so I told my mother, who had driven me to my session. She says that she doesn't see her having AS in comparison to my childhood, and also told me that in middle school both my parents told me formally about AS; must have zoned out for that for I have no recollection of this (did I feel like a jackass…)

It was a much needed conversation, none the less…

So now I'm going with my therapist's advice, alongside my mother's useful insights, to put this aside for now and pick this up again after some time has passed.

Thank you Adora and Tom for the advice, you two really helped me with this one.
