Harold Reitman will appear at Words Bookstore on May 13.
Harold Reitman - a retired orthopedic surgeon, former professional heavyweight boxer and the CEO of PCE Media – will come to Maplewood to speak at Words Bookstore, 179 Maplewood Ave., on May 13 at 7:30 p.m.
Reitman will present a talk based on his book, “Aspertools: The Practical Guide for Understanding and Embracing Asperger’s, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Neurodiversity.”
He will also share tips and techniques for successfully handling life on the Autism Spectrum.
According to a release, Reitman has received the Emerald Society 2000 Humanitarian of the Year Award, the Healthy Mothers-Healthy Babies 2002 Honorary “Mr. Mom” Award and the Florida Medical Association’s 2002 Harold S. Strasser, M.D. Good Samaritan Award. He is also the past chairman and president of The Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County, where he still serves as a board member. He is a fellow at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons.
