Inertia (not being able to stop)

Starting to think this will beat me..

I will surf the internet or play games until I get light headed, brain freeze, heart is racing, my limbs get pins and needles and I get very grumpy and overwhelmed. I cannot stop easily until the negative effects are unavoidable. This anxiety and over stimulation causes me to self soothe with food. It usually happens in the evening when Im more tired and my negative self talk is stronger and my mental defense against cravings is weakest.

Anyone have any strategies to deal with this?

Drink lots and lots of water. This will not only be good for your body, but it will force you to get up to pee frequently. Every time you get up, engage in some sort of physical activity - pacing, stretching, lifting dumbbells.

Try loving tea (if you don't already). The process of making it and drinking it can help with unwanted food cravings. There are so many different kinds to try and enjoy.

Practice discipline. Set a time so that at least ever 45 minutes or an hour (or whatever you choose) you remind yourself to take a break and do something that involves moving your body. I'm a broken record continually playing the message to drink (water), breathe, and move.

Get up and go outside and do something. I haven't had any time for surfing the Internet much as I'm stuck riding a bicycle to work while waiting for my car to be overhauled.

So far I have gotten to:

Cook some better meals

See deer, wood-ducks, possums, cats, dogs, horses and ponies, squirrels, bluebirds, and more

Meet a lot of people

Dig up a road with a shovel to help a guy, and he offered me all the fresh pecans I can gather (pecan pie here I come)

Incentives to self to repair/upgrade old worn out bicycle

Had fun

Giving yourself something apart from the internet to do, that keeps you occupied and busy, is good. Big world out there that isn't plugged in. Promise you will be happier.

Not a doctor here, but it's interesting that a lot of the things you mentioned are just B-vitamin deficiency symptoms.

Are you 100% sure that this is related to digital stimulation? Sometimes other things can play into how we feel, and they're not always so apparent to us. I'd also ask, "What's making me crave stimulation so much?", because symptoms just happening spontaneously all by themselves doesn't always make the most sense.

This is why going to a doctor can be so important. I know they usually spitball and tell you everything is fine (if you live in the US and don't have insurance), but if you have some specific concerns or speculations they can really get to the root of it. Sometimes.
