The video shows Sam feeling the rhythm as he serves up a frothy treat and was posted on Facebook by author Carly Fleischmann, who also has autism.

She wrote: "I would like to introduce you to a young teenager named Sam.

"When he was offered a position to work at Starbucks Sam told his parents that for the first time in his life., that his life had real meaning.

"Sam was diagnosed with autism and like some people with autism Sam has a movement disorder. Sam has a hard time keeping his body still.

"Sam never thought that he would be able to work behind the bar because of his sudden movements but his manager Chris believed in him and got Sam to channel his movements into dance.

"It has taken Sam and Chris a lot of shifts and hours to get Sam to do what he is doing in the video. Sam is now known as the dancing barista. If it wasn't for Chris believing in Sam he would of never believed in himself.

"More people like Sam need to be seen, heard and given a chance to thrive and dance."

Carly's followers were inspired by the video. One said: "I love this story! Through understanding and acceptance, something that might have seemed like a hindrance to some employers has become his strength.

"I want to shop where the people behind the counter are happy and dancing. It gives hope to all us parents of ASD children that by the time they grow up, this attitude might be the norm."

This is the perfect example of a supervisor putting in the time and effort to make a reasonable and appropriate accommodation for an employee with a disability so that the employee can not only rise to a level of competence, but also bring something unique to the team.

If only more employers and managers were like Chris. He managed to see strengths he could bring, rather than just seeing he's autistic. Both the Starbucks and Sam benefit from this. Win-win.
