Hi all,

Nice to find this forum. I'm gradually coming to the conclusion that I am probably HFA of some kind or another. I've taken the AQ screening test and got a 39; my mother has said on numerous occasions that she now thinks I was probably autistic (the diagnosis did not exist at the time/place I was growing up); I have hyperlexia and was obsessively interested in letters and words when I was a child; I had lots of social difficulties growing up and could not relate to my peers (I was terribly bullied throughout my childhood); and so on and so forth.

I'm 42 years old, married, and the mother of a small child (who is neurotypical as far as I can tell). I'm still pondering just what to do with the "autism" label and where to go from there. I hope that participating in this forum may help.

Welcome to the forum! We have some things in common. If you happen to be into word games, you might want to consider checking out the 'Forum Games' sub-forum! Enjoy your time, here!

Oh, I read your other posts before reading this one and didn't look at your post count and somehow came to the conclusion that you had been here a while and that I remember seeing you before. Such strange things we can convince ourselves of!

I'm glad you're here!

Hi meepmeep :)

welcome to af.webp

Hi Meepmeep. I wish I had known while raising my 4 kids about my autism. I hope it helps you understand yourself and any parenting struggles. Welcome.
