Introducing myself

Mono

Active Member
Hi there, I'm new here. I picked the username Mono after a character in one of my favorite games, Little Nightmares 2. I guess I was lucky such a short and simple name was still available.

I'm 42 years old and was officially diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder 10 years ago. Though my psychologist said that before the DSM changes, it would have been Asperger's syndrome.

I had suspected a good 7-8 years longer that I was on the spectrum, I recognized things in the behavior of clients I helped while working in assisted living (they were also on the spectrum). But people in my network all said I was too social, also my appreciation for dark/sarcastic humor didn't fit the bill. I kept having problems getting work and private life in balance though, so I am glad I stuck to my guns and got tested.

I have learned a lot about myself in the past 10 years and am doing much better. Got a nice/safe job in administration. I enjoy long/early day walks, games, LEGO, TV series and movies, nothing out of the ordinary, really. Happy to be here :)
