I'm Liz.....I was diagnosed aged 23, am 35 now and mildly sceptical about it but then sceptical about most diagnoses. Do fine (excellent) 99.7% of the time. Then anxious meltdowns in between. The 99.7% is hard-won. Hoping for a pocket-resource here to get me through.
 
Am still figuring how it works. Are you an aspie too....? I work in mental health/disability so the only aspies I meet are ones I represent and I don't disclose to them. My manager and a few colleagues know.
 
Some people in my life think I'm. After doing some research I believe I'm as well. January I will get an official assessment.
 
Aha.....well I think I was in denial about my assessment for years. Is only this year (and a bit 2007) that I've sort of stepped up to it.
 
When people thought I had it, I didn't bother to care much about it. However, because of all the hardship I had this year, I have decided I should do some research. After my research, it made sense to me why I'm having all of these life issues. It also got me to work harder to ensure my voice does get heard. It is not easy though.
 
Thanks - am feeling like this is quite a helpful tool for people.....penguin-man yes completely agree that making sense of those pervasive issues (even if it's taken me a while and remains ongoing) is helpful/hope it will be...

You'll find that our me, all share a mix of different feelings towards their diagnoses (whether official, or not). Either way, this is a great place to get better acquainted with AS, and to compare yourself with others.

Thanks :) the kayak is because my partner calls me "lady k" and I like the way "kayak" looks....palindromic and that....
