Hello! My name is Juliette and I am a professor at Teachers College, Columbia University. I'm interested in learning about services and supports that people with Asperger's and Autism might need or want. I've registered for this site so that I can learn from the real experts :)

Welcome aboard! :)
This one is probably obvious, but "to have near- endless patience."

Welcome Juliette!! :D I'm a teen with Asperger's by the way but I'm sure you'll like it! There are lots of friendly Aspies on here.

Welcome Juliette

Thank you for taking an interest in us here. Are there specifically any areas of support which you are more focused on knowing about? I feel that there are quite a number of different services that many of our members require; right across the globe.

Perhaps some of the more prominant ones would include assistance with employment, financial aid, or some kind of safety net (as some members are in fact homeless, or close to it). Many of our members may also agree that some kind of advocacy would be helpful to assist in allowing others to better understand us. This would make a world of difference, as many opportunities in life are not available to us, for the simple fact that we are not always accepted in to social situations.

I recommend that you start a thread here, so that interested members may better find your posts, and hopefully aid in your research: Autism Spectrum News, Events and Research | AspiesCentral.com
