From what I have read so far here, seems like AC is pretty much it + a lot of people have 1 offline friend.

I socialize here more, and easier than other places, but I could not be so bold as to say I have friends here. Many kind and great people that I may be friends with someday though.

Well, aside from my girlfriend (and even that's a long distance thing) I have one friend outside of AC with whom I meet up like once a week. And he's off on a vacation with his girlfriend for another week or so.

So basically, yes AC is my primary way to socialize and have friends.

Even if I'm into that social networking thing (facebook for instance), I don't really communicate that much with people through that. Probably the people I communicate most with aside from my girlfriend are people I have on facebook and know through AC.

I'm on AC a lot more than I am with other people in real life. Though I should add, I'm not just on AC, there's a few forums I hang around, both Aspergers as well as some special interest forums. But none of those match up to the time I end up being logged on here on a daily basis apparently.

Facebook is the most I socialize. I'm at a point where I'm posting statuses more in a day than I actually speak. Literally feel like I am talking to an empty room.

I don't have any real life friends, I post on here and 2 other forums but I don't have any online friends either, there are people I may chat to on forums but I don't think they are friends, there is no talking away from the forums or anything.

I consider you and my AC family as real friends! If we all lived close enough to visit each other I would. I know Butterfly Lady feels the same way!:)

Perhaps i was using the word 'friend' a little loosely. NOrmally it's a word that i'm very guarded about using.

I tell my in-person friend that he is my only friend. But i do feel comfortable with the people here. It's the only group of people among whom i can be a little weird. (I emphasise group because i can be weird around my real-life friend.)

I am able to be honest here, in a way that I could never be socially. Not just because of the anonymity, but because you are my people. It is comforting to know that I will be accepted here.
