Is it okay for me to feel off about this non-friendship?

I feel upset about social stuff. I have 3 good friends but they don't always have time and neither do I honestly. I am bsuy enough- so that's not a problem. The president of a convention I staff for asked me to vote for specific people for the board a few weeks ago. it caught me offguard because I am not friends with him, he wasn't running for the board himself, I haven't had to work with him enough directly, and it just didn't sit well with me.

I researched the options more and ended up agreeing with his choices completely. To try to turn this slight awkwardness for me into something positive, since I know he lives in the next town over from me, I tried to meet him to try to either network more or to build a deeper friendship. He kept being evasive and only wants to meet online only to try some game out- and that's a big maybe. Apparently, he plays Pathfinder and I have no interest in live rpgs because they kinda suck the life out of you and a lot of those people, if they aren't already your friends, they don't want to try to build friendships. They only want numbers to fill their game up for their quests and such.

I don't know if my social expectations are too high or if I should feel annoyed but try to distant myself . Thoughts?

NT's like games lying to each other not worth getting involved in their stuff Watching Elon try playing their game
screwing himself. Distance yourself, not your issue.

I declined a Discord "friend" request and unfriended the guy on Steam and it made me feel better.
I don’t want to know the games someone has if I can’t spend quality time with them. It’s all unnecessary noise.

Your supportive piece of advice help me make that good decision for myself.
Thank you.
