Is "Master's" from House autistic?

Yes she is!!! The last episode was really good. I read some of the characters bio and apparently the actor who plays Master's also stated that the character probably has asperger's syndrome, and is based on a medical student.

Sadly though, she is leaving House.... This was the last episode with Master's. :(

The director of the show wanted to keep her character, but apparently Amber Tamblyn, the actress that plays Master's, decided to leave for another show. Sucks, her character was really awesome and totally autistic.

Yeah she was a pretty empty character up until this last episode. I wish we could have seen thirteen and masters play off each other. They left it pretty undeveloped in the episode though.

Ha and yeah, I'm totally lesbo for Thirteen... SO HOT. jeez.

Bummer, I haven't been completely up to date with the current season - I tend to save up and watch them all at once - but from what I saw so far there was something delightfully out of place about that character. I was looking forward to see how it would unfurl.
Now in terms of hotness - and House is in many ways a stylish version of Baywatch- it is in my badly informed opinion as a lifelong dude that I'd probably go all out lesbo for Masters. Thirteen may be all awesomely bad ass hot and so, but she's just too good at what she does. Masters had a good amount of ineptitude, and a good amount of ineptitude is what brings down even the mightiest of empires. :)

I agree with you on this. There is something very appealing about Masters.

One website described Masters as being the opposite of House. It's interesting if she, the possible Aspie is the opposite of House, because I could really imagine someone with a mis-perception of ASD, mis-diagnosing House as having it.

I know this topics is a bit old now, but I only started watching House on DVD (was never able to catch much of the show on TV), but I'm currently up to the episode where Masters has just left.

I would say she does come across a bit as having AS. House, I first suspected also had it, but then I took a closer look, and thought about it, and now think he may have either Narsasistic Personality Disorder, or Reactive Association Disorder (or both). I only think this, because he reminds me of someone I've known all my life, who I suspect has these traits as well. He has the back story to support it too, as I remember him confessing that his dad had abused him as a kid, by doing things like forcing him to bathe in ice cold water.

I don't know if they ever reveal it in the end, but am keen to see where it goes :)

Don't forget the episode where House did pretend to be autistic and everyone believed him.

Season 3, episode 4: "Lines in the Sand"

A ten-year-old boy begins screaming in pain, but nobody knows why, because he is autistic and cannot explain. House refuses to use his office because it has new carpet.

I haven't watched an episode of House since the finale so I might be wrong, but I think I worded the post you quoted me on wrong. I remember in the episode he didn't so much as pretend to be autistic but was just acting out and the team came to the conclusion that he was because of the way he was behaving to the change in his office.

The reality was something along the lines of him throwing a fuss just to try and get his own way.

Ah yeah, I know the one. Haha, thought I'd missed another episode based on autism :P
