I have been very sensitive to continuous noises in places I live.
Think AC or random outside noises.
It drove me almost crazy in 3 different places. Obsessing about it, trying so many ear medications, trying to install these sheets that attenuates sounds, trying blocking sound headphones, ear plugs, saw so many ear doctors that couldn’t find anything physically wrong, trying to force myself to ignore the sounds, trying to force myself to focus on other sounds, trying to change spot inside the same place, broke a lease over it, got into deep depression each time, and considered suicide a few times.
I currently live in a small but quiet apt.
I just got an offer accepted for a house. The house itself is great but it’s not that far from a busy avenue and you can hear distinctly the road noise from just outside of the house. Inside the noise is mostly tempered and it’s not that bad.
Should I try to power through it? Any advices to do that?
My girlfriend and I are so tired of looking for a place - literally several years of looking in this market - and want to move in together. And I will probably lose a bunch of money $30-40k if I back out. So I am seriously thinking of moving forward even if I am like 2/3 certain that this would be an issue that will be again hard to ignore.
Welcome any thoughts or feedbacks. Thank you.
