Itching experience

Greening

Well-Known Member
Hi there

I recently had this weird experience of suddenly itching various places on my body, and I had difficulty stopping again.
Does anyone know about this experience and what to do to make it stop?

The first thing that comes to my mind is laundry detergent and fabric softener. That can make people itch, the clothes. But it could be anything I guess, I don't know.

Thank you. It is a good guess, but I have not changed any of that. Perhaps it was some kind of stress reaction. I used to have a forest cat as a friend. A wonderful cat he was.

I used to get itchy when my blood sugar dropped.

Changed what I eat, so that doesn't happen any more.

It used to feel like small insects crawling on me and biting me.

Food allergies are something to think about as well. They can occur at any time throughout one's life.

Ah, there is my answer. I ate a lot of candy that day. I normally never do that. Hah. Thanks. I will avoid it as much as possible again.

I've always had a ton of allergies, so it was never a surprise. Plenty of pollen and mold to pick up just from laying in the grass. If I was made to lay down in green pastures, it wasn't in this place, that's for sure.

My mom was allergic to pollen. I couldn't lay in grass without feeling itchy. I had pollen allergies. And my mom smoked cigarettes. That led me to having a lot of allergies. I have outgrown a lot of them. I was allergic to jute, hayfever, dog hair, blah, blah, blah.

My parents never did smoke. I did grow out of the egg allergy enough that I don't worry much about eating eggs by accident (pastries, etc.). It kind of fits the nerd stereotype, doesn't it? 0 CHA and 0 STR. Oh, well.

Could be liver related. I recommend seeing a doctor if it persists

No, it was just allergies. I'm sure they got a very close look at my liver when they were removing my gall bladder.

EDIT: Oh, you might have been replying to the other guy, nm.

removing my gall bladder.

Hmm... I've had weird rashes and things my whole life (which are apparently pretty similar to allergies as far as the immune system goes) and recently joined the ganked gallbladder club as well. Have yours gotten any better since then by any chance? I've heard a lot of people notice the correlation between issues like this and gallstones, although obviously this is just anecdotal for the most part.

I thought I had noticed my allergies improve a bit, but I don't test them, because they're really unpleasant. I've always struggled to breathe through my nose, to the point where I remember being introduced to the concept as a kid, and finding it dubious.

Hi there

Yes I used to get it all the time. I think a lot of it is stress for me.
My scalp in particular gets itchy and like it is on fire.
I am not sure bad anyone but when one area is itchy and unbalanced everything else can get that way.

I was allergic to dust but it does not mean I cannot sleep in a dust room. I just get watery eyes that I need to wipe a lot which gets irritating and occasionally cough.
Just becaus I get dust allergy does not mean I cannot be near it just may not be a good idea and probably best avoided.
When I did an allergy test when I was younger I only had a slight reaction to dust and when he injected me with the allergen it was worse then. I was never allergic to molds, pollens and dog or cats or animal hair.
I have never had hay fever and can smell all kinds of flowers just do not like them in my room.
Also....
I have slept under black mold, touched mold etc had a lot of dealing with mold in this house and have an immune compromised system and hsve never gotten that sick.
I go out all the time before too in spring and I can smell all kinds of pollen from the flowers and I still try to be careful because of my immune system but I never got nasal.
And when I was younger I would play in the hay and sometimes it made me feel a bit of irritation same as sitting on grass but I never had long lasting effects. I cannot say the amount of times I sat on hay or grass as a child or teen. And I never got hayfever.
I used to let our dog all over the couch and sometimes on the bed and I might get a little initial reaction but it sure went away and if I patted my dog I was find.
I did all those things and if any of it irritated my skin or made my nose slightly itchy..it went so quickly I did not notice.
I was like this is normal it is normal because hay can make you feel a bit itchy because it has dust etc and it is just a part of being human.
That even neurotypicals may feel those things because these things can be sort of stuff that irritates the nose etc.
You know we live in such a soft, germ phobe, disinfectant world now that if you ever do anything remotely dirty then you are sure to have to wash your hands with disinfectant soap anyway.
And kids get wrapped in cotton wool instead of just experiencing normal things.
I looked directly at the sun several times too and saw dots and never ended up blind, with poor or damaged vision.
I will have now though.
