Just finished a tele-health session where I got the news: I'm officially "ASD Type I, Moderate" ...since Asperger's is no longer a thing in DSM5.
First heard of Asperger's about 20 years ago, and immediately thought it sounded like a fit. I didn't worry about making it official for a long time, but for various reasons I eventually fought through the red tape, tracked down a provider who would talk to adults, and got it documented.
Stat block:
I'm 55, M, divorced
I have 5 children, 19-28, sole custody for the last 15 years. I suspect at least three of them are also ASD.
I am a software developer, 30 years experience, 3 patents.
I am an amateur musician (guitar, bass, low brass, composer.)
