Learning To Aspie

Hello everyone, I’m René and I’m 25. I live in South Africa and I was recently diagnosed with Aspergers.

I’m very new to all new to the Aspie world and I thought that talking to people who experienced the world and the people in it the same as me would be a good place to start.

For most of my life being “different” was okay as I only had a few social relationships. But 8 months ago I entered into my first serious romantic relationship and my Aspie is starting to cause a lot of problems and miscommunication in our relationship.

My current job also involves me working with the public one-on-one and it’s proven to be a challenge all on its own for me.

I’m excited to meet and talk to everyone across the spectrum and learn from you all.

Hi René welcome. It sounds like you have plenty of coping strategies even if there are challenges too. I hope you find useful ideas and information here. Sounds like you already know how to Aspie you just didn't know what to call it... ;)
