Lets discuss cheese

What is your fave cheese and how do you eat it. Mine are Roquefort blue cheese and smoked gouda. Enjoyed on crackers or mixed into pasta. From uk cheeses i enjoy red leister and chive double glouster with a slice of apple for supper.

I suppose I still have much to learn (and many cheeses to try!), but I'm fond of any sharp cheddar. Mozzarella is always good, too, and I love chevre.
 
There was a cheese that was sold in the UK Supermarket 'Morrisons' called 'Mexicana'. It was a dark yellow/orange colour, with bits of red and green peppers inside. Pretty spicy. Loved it to pieces.

Also, 'Caerphilly' cheese - the pale white cheese that's impossibly crumbly. Trying to cut it is futile, unless you're going for half an inch or more.

Yes I know which one you mean,it has small bits of both green and red chilies in it. I have had that myself, I always used to stare at the man cutting cheese with that wire as a child , and loved seeing it slice through the cheese ,I would talk about it endlessly to mum , who told me to shut up LOL

I love Morrissons BTW, i think they have a good range of breads and veg, also their cafe is very reasonable
 
Bleu cheese, extra sharp cheddar (yellow or white)
Port wine cheese!!!
With triscuits or crackers and Pepperoni of course.
 
I've got a very very fine Malbec from Autry Cellars I be been saving, lol, but you are about 3,000 miles away
 
extra sharp cheddar,bleu and that crappy off-brand velveeta that makes killer grilled cheese sandwiches :p
 
Goat cheeses: yum. The only cheese I cannot stand is swiss cheese and "cheese products" that are not really cheese.
 
Thanks a lot. After reading though this, my mouth is watering and I'm hungry. Guess I'm going to go to the store for cheese, crackers, salami and beer. Oh well, that will make a good dinner.
 
I guess now is a good time to let the forum know my olfactory functions were obliterated when my left frontal cortex was damaged...it is a pretty strange world without smell or taste that involves your nose...I still get sweet,sour salty and spicy sensations,so a trip thru the spice rack or grocery store has me gravitate towards those sensations more than bland foods...many of the foods I loved in my past are now only memories...the crazy part of it all is that I have a fondness for cooking and still prepare food that others find pleasing,but only from memory of how to achieve tastes that are not offensive...while there are smells like nitromethane exhaust fumes,burning rubber from tires and most important of all,perfume that I truly miss,I avoid food items I despised in my past with the thought that if for some reason that food gets through the fog,it will quite possibly be a memory of the first or last thing I ever get to hate again...the upside to no more smell is never getting a stinky restroom again :p
