Looking for art to buy

Hi guys. I'm looking to decorate my new bedroom at some point soon. I was thinking about getting some art for the walls. I could just buy random stuff off of Amazon or something but then I thought about getting something meaningful from people like me. Does anyone know of any artists out there on the internet who are selling their work? Or maybe someone on here! I don't know. I don't really have a massive idea of what I'm looking for, just something that provokes something for me personally. I'm not really looking for work based off games, books or television programmes. I'd like something original. I would prefer work from someone in Britain but it doesn't need to be.

I've had a look on The Autism Trust's website at some of their stuff. Richard Hallum's work is very provoking. Eye of the Tiger and Rails in particular.

Yeah. Hook me up if you know anyone!

How about Rocco? Wrong side of the pond, but he sure does good work.

There's lots of kinds of art out there by artists with Autism, much of it is personal and related to their world, all of it quite interesting. Think about this kind of art as something you will live with for quite a long time, in your personal space. So it should be something that speaks to you.

All of the artists indicated above are autistic and on the spectrum.

Quite. You know when something speaks to you, you're left stunned and just thinking, "wow!". And yes, I could only have something which leaves me like that or maybe something which I can look at time and time again and find a new detail about it - I have a weak central coherence.

I've looked at a few things but I'm not too sure if they speak to me. It's moving to hear about the artist's back stories, one man I read was slowly losing his sight but said that he still thinks he would be able to paint even when blind and it's nice to have that sort of back story to art you have in your house, I think, because it sends a very powerful thought about the person's passion for painting. But I think I need to art itself to primarily speak to me first. Back stories just add another dimension to the story it's telling.

I wouldn't for example want to look at the itchy sweater all the time, or the face, but it might be all-right outside of the room I sleep in. Think I would prefer something that would make me think, but not too excitedly in my personal space. Know that I get sick of bright colors after awhile, if I have to see them all the time.
