Hello,

My name is Dean. I'm 53 years old, male and diagnosed with AS 3 years ago. Since then, I've become aware that My father is very likely Aspie too, but undiagnosed. I found these forums in a Google search and decided to join in and hopefully make a few new friends.

Welcome, Dean! Please feel at ease in getting to know people here. We're a great bunch of Aspies from all over the world & of all ages. Hopefully, you'll make many friends.

Hi Dean,
I am a 53 year old Aspie. Was just diagnosed 3 weeks ago. This is a great site, with fantastic, understanding people.
Welcome!

I am a 44-year-old female. I have just discovered why aspurgers is. I am sure that I have it and that my 13-year-old son has it. My first goal is to get him a diagnosis. And then to get myself a diagnosis. I am curious as to how you older adults such as myself have gone about getting a diagnosis. And also curious as to why you wanted a diagnosis and if having a professional diagnosis has help in anyway. Thanks and happy new year to all.

Hi Dean, and welcome to AC. I am a 55 year old, diagnosed 6 months ago. Being diagnosed helped me to see that I wasn't crazy all these years.

I'm a 46 year old male, diagnosed 2 years ago. I went to a psychologist (or psychiatrist I can never keep those straight).
