Bicycle is wonderful and if you like classic types, I am sure
@Gerontius can give many pointers on that subject.
Mmmh. Any green spaces near you? Suitable for walking? Skipping ropes are fun, not just for kids, and great for fitness and coordination and think of the positive role model you could be by doing things like that in a world that's so constrained by unnecessary ideas and herd thinking. Kids would love it too.
Rollerblading? Not expensive and you could hire too if you don't want to do it regularly. It's like flight, but on the ground.
Any hobby/interest groups in your area to check out? Anthropologically, of course, and with write-ups for the rest of us.
I tried some out-there things like Scottish Highland dancing in our little town, and that was actually a really lovely group of all ages you could let your hair down with. Very invigorating and amusing exercise too. One of the moves was called "The Teapot" bwahahahaha.
We have a hiking group that car pools to lovely areas and if you have no car, you just chip in for petrol.
On the not so fun side was my attendance at a local progress association meeting, which was filled with little wannabe dictators and so dull I wanted to pull my nose hairs out with tweezers.
It's good to have a look around...
