MacGyver vs The A-team

The original versions of both of these are in my top 5 most enjoyed series list and they both involve a lot of improvisation. I thought it might be an interesting comparison.

Never watched MacGyver, but I enjoyed his predecessor from a much earlier time.

James West, who usually had some interesting things up his sleeves. Or in his shoes.

I saw at least three episodes of that on TV before.

I really enjoyed both series’ as a kid, but had to pick A-Team because I still quote from the show and sing the theme song randomly.

I do feel a little sad at times about the A-Team. I liked seeing George Peppard in leading roles in the movies. Hated to see him reduced to television roles, but he did play Hannibal well. Though I also know he didn't like "Mr. T".

Always thought he was brilliant in "The Blue Max" (1966).

A series is often more fun than a movie because you keep the same characters longer.

Good point. They are far more developed, where they can become "beloved" to an audience.

Though in Peppard's case I'll always remember him first as Leutnant Bruno Stachel. Ruthless, and arrogant. Not a particularly nice guy. A commoner struggling to compete with aristocrats.

A leading man who was certainly no hero. But a great piece of acting, IMO.

Before he was flying Fokker Triplanes for the Germans (The Blue Max 1966) he was flying P-38s for the Americans (Operation Crossbow 1965). Go figure.
