Saloum Cisse, 28, was working at Autism Treatment Center
SAN ANTONIO - A man is accused of punching an 18-year-old with autism, who was under his care, multiple times.
Saloum Cisse, 28, is charged with one felony count of injury to a disabled person causing bodily injury.
According to an arrest affidavit, Cisse was working at the Autism Treatment Center at the time of the incident. The report said the victim spat on Cisse's face.
Cisse then took the victim to another room and allegedly beat him multiple times in the head, according the report.
Cisse is accused of then leaving the room and checking the hallway to make sure no one was coming to check on them. The report said Cisse then went back into the room and threw the victim onto the floor and started punching and kicking him in the head. According to police, Cisse then attacked the victim for a third time.
The entire alleged assault was caught on surveillance video.

As always, our first and foremost concern is for the safety of the individuals weserve. This is a very difficult situation. For 40 years, Autism Treatment Center hassupported children and adults with autism spectrum disorder. We have an extensiveinterviewing and selection process that includes ensuring every person we employhas received thorough and routine criminal history background checks, to includeseveral national registries and fingerprinting, as well as drug testing prior toextending an offer of employment. Those selected undergo over 80 hours oftraining prior to beginning their position. ATC also continues to conduct criminal background checks on all of our employees on an annual basis after they are hired.
We do everything we can to ensure the safety and well being of our individuals.This includes having low staff to student ratios and providing camera systems in all programming areas. Our administration responds very quickly to issues needingour attention. This event was no exception and ATC administration immediatelyresponded to the situation and ensured the individual was thoroughly examined andreceived the immediate care from our medical team. Simultaneously, the person inquestion was immediately removed from the premises and ATC immediatelyreported the event to the authorities, parents and other appropriate agencies. Theindividual in our care did not sustain physical injuries related to this event. He issafe and doing well. I can tell you, I am grateful for the video monitoring systemthat allowed us to respond immediately and ensure the student was brought tosafety. Our administrative team is cooperating fully with the authorities and willcontinue to do so. This is all the information I have at this time.
